Countdown begins for 'special' Robin Hood Half Marathon 2021

The countdown has begun for the Robin Hood Half Marathon 40th anniversary run.

On September 26, Nottingham’s streets will be awash with runners of all types - young, old, new, experienced and some dressed head to toe in fancy dress.

After cancelling last year’s run due to coronavirus, everything looks set for 2021 with just over 50 days remaining until race day.

Judith Manson, race director, confirms: “Charities are at the heart of the Robin Hood Marathon Events weekend. We are immensely proud of the work of our charity partners and look forward to supporting them on their journey.

“The 2021 event promises to be a special event for all involved. Celebrations of our 40th race, raising vital funds for communities across the UK, and returning stronger together from one of the most challenging times through the global pandemic.

“If you have already secured your place in one of the races and want to make each step count please support one of the official charities and help us make the 2021 a come-back event to remember. In 2019, the total fundraising figure was over £330,000 – can you help us top this?”

Cancer Research UK will remain the headline charity for the event, with other partners ranging from Alzheimer’s Society and ABF The Soldier’s Charity to local charities such as Maggie’s and the Children’s Bereavement Centre.
