'Count Dabula' picture taken outside Clontarf home of Bram Stoker becomes viral hit

A picture taken at the home of Dracula's creator in Dublin has become a viral sensation after being spotted by some eagle eyes on Google Maps.

Taken at the childhood home of Count Dracula author Bram Stoker in Clontarf, it almost went unnoticed after being taken almost three years ago.

The picture, taken in June 2018 by Michael Scanlon, shows a young lad giving it his best "Count Dabula" outside the famed home.

It has delighted many online, with comments including "Well that's the best thing ever!" and some historical information such as "I love Clontarf, that’s also where a lot of Joyce’s Portrait of the Artist is set (and where he lived too obviously)".

Bram Stoker was born in the house on Marino Crescent back in November 1847 and lived there during his childhood, even suffering a mysterious illness until the age of seven-years-old.

It's among many that were taken at the famous location but it's definitely our favourite one to have appeared for the entire world to see.

While Count Dracula may be Stoker's most famous work, it wasn't written at the Clontarf location and instead was written during his time in London while working as secretary and director of the city's famed Lyceum Theatre.
