Councillors have voted in favour of bulldozing a popular Perth gym.
Members of the planning the development committee voted to approve plans to demolish the Fit4less gym on Canal Street and build 12 flats in the site when they met on Wednesday.

The news will come as a shock to the gym's 1200 members, who had hoped councillors would give the facility a reprieve.
Planning officers had previously recommended approval, despite admitting the loss of the gym would be "regrettable".

And seven councillors on the committee agreed with the planners at Wednesday's meeting, with four opposing the plan.
