Councillor who defected from Tories to Reform says he made ‘biggest mistake of my life’

  • He criticised Reform UK as "unfit to govern" and claimed he felt "misled" by the party, believing he was used for a "good news story" at the time of his defection.
  • Lammas has apologised to Kemi Badenoch, stating he left the Conservatives because he thought the party was "over" but now believes she has "turned it around".
  • Reform UK stated Lammas was previously suspended and rejected for a job, while the party has recently lost 15 councillors and faces challenges in by-elections.
