Councillor Eric Drysdale to remain chair of the Perth and Kinross Integration Joint Board

Councillor Eric Drysdale will remain as chair of the Perth and Kinross Integration Joint Board (IJB), which controls the health and social care partnership, until autumn 2021.

The SNP councillor stepped into the role when Conservative councillor Colin Stewart was suspended from the council by the Standards Commission for Scotland following allegations of bullying and aggressive and intimidating behaviour.

The Conservative councillor has since been cleared of wrongdoing following an investigation.

However, it has emerged Cllr Stewart will not automatically resume his role as IJB chair and his return to the NHS Tayside Board is also uncertain.

He was replaced by Cllr Drysdale both as IJB chair and as the elected member from Perth and Kinross Council on NHS Tayside’s board.

Cllr Drysdale said: “I can confirm that I remain as chair of Perth and Kinross Integration Joint Board until autumn 2021 and as appointee to the Tayside NHS Board until/unless otherwise decided by full council.”

Cllr Drysdale added that Wednesday’s (April 29) meeting was postponed “for operational reasons, by unanimous agreement of the voting members.”

He said: “This meeting is being rescheduled for a date to be agreed next month, which will be advised in the normal manner as soon as possible.”
