Council workers seen taking down election posters to return to candidates in North Dublin

Some Dublin politicians are having their election posters returned to them after council workers ripped them off poles for obstruction.

The council told Dublin Live that the offending posters will be given back to candidates to put up in posts in a "safe and appropriate manner."

Dublin politicians accused of using public meeting posters to get around election rules 

They said: "It was a contractor working on behalf of Dublin City Council who took down the posters as they were obscuring the lamp post banners.

"All posters will be returned to the candidates for installations on lamp posts in a safe and appropriate manner which does not interfere with existing signage."
