A team from West Lothian Council’s Building Services has been busy upgrading smoke and heat alarms to over 14,000 properties.
Since the Introduction of Scottish Government’s Legislation and the national revised Tolerable Standards on Smoke and Heat Alarms, the legislation on alarms changed in February. All homeowners must ensure that they comply with the new legislation.
For West Lothian Council, that meant upgrading alarms at over 14,000 properties.
Executive councillor for services to the community, George Paul said: “This is a huge job for the team and I’d like to thank them for their work.
"This has been done in conjunction with the Housing Capital Programme, where the council has been upgrading their properties to ensure that all tenanted homes meet the new legislative standards and are 100 per cent fully compliant with the law.”
