Council praise band's success

West Lothian Council have lauded the success of the county latest chart stars, The Snuts.

The success of the band highlighted the county “as rich in musical talent” said a local councillor.

Backing a motion by Councillor Kirsteen Sullivan, and seconded by fellow Labour councillor George Paul, the council agreed with a call to write to the band and wish them continued success.

Councillor Sullivan’s motion praised the band’s success and passed on congratulations to the band for their success so far.

She said: “Council acknowledges the incredible success of Whitburn band The Snuts, with its debut album ‘W.L.’ entering the charts at number one, the first Scottish band to do so since 2007.

“Council congratulates The Snuts on winning the chart battle when they beat global superstar Demi Lovato to the top spot, once again highlighting West Lothian as an area rich with musical talent across various genres.

“Council sends the band the very best of wishes for continued success in the future and instructs the chief executive to write to The Snuts in these terms.”
