Newcastle's new visitor information centre has opened inside the former Civic railway station building.
The centre includes hands-on interactive experiences, tourist information and souvenirs.
Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation renovated the station's exterior before City of Newcastle fitted it out.
The repurposed building features a hand-painted mural incorporating a welcome to country in the Awabakal and Worimi languages and a map of Newcastle printed on the vinyl floor.
The visitor information centre will open from 9.30am to 4.30pm on weekdays and 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.
The council said it would open on Sundays as demand increased with more easing of coronavirus restrictions.
