Council gardener mows around pain in the grass sunbather

A council gardener using a mini-tractor to cut the grass didn't want to disturb a sunbather - so mowed around him.

The worker was busy cutting the grass on his drive-on mower at a park in Somerset on Friday.

But rather than ask the man, who was lying flat on the grass in just a pair of shorts, to move he simply just manoeuvred his drive on mower around him, reported Bristol Live.

When the gardener finished and the man eventually got up and left, he left behind an oval shaped patch of uncut grass.

Phil Curme, who witnessed the stand-off in Alexandra Gardens in Clevedon said: "I thought it was hilarious.

“It says so much about human conditioning – the lack of communication between the pair.

“I was walking down to the seafront and I walked through the park, I saw the mower approaching the guy.

“I was intrigued as to what would happen, so I paused and watched.

“I watched him go round two or three times. The gardener got closer and closer – I thought the sunbather was going to crack at some point – but he just lay there.

“Maybe it was it a ‘no mowing’ protest. The patch of grass is still there now, the gardener just left it.”
