Council car parks across Rushcliffe to remain free after 3pm

Rushcliffe car parks will continue to be free to use after 3pm in a bid to help with the recovery of the hospitality sector.

Rushcliffe Borough Council announced their Free after 3 initiative, introduced in April, would be extended until further notice.

The car parks include those on Bridgford Road, Gordon Road and Nursery car parks in West Bridgford, Bunny Lane in Keyworth and Needham Street in Bingham.

The council say the usual rules being in place before then are there to “ensure a healthy turnover of spaces.”

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Environment and Safety, Councillor Rob Inglis said: “Continuing to allow customers to park for free after 3pm makes supporting local outlets and independent traders even easier.

“It’s been a rough time for businesses over the last 16 months and we want to continue to support them by extending this initiative and reaching out with further incentive to visit town and village centres.

“We’ve been pleased with the response of motorists to date who have taken advantage of this opportunity and we thank everyone for their continued support of our great local businesses.”
