East Kilbride Central Library has been forced to close its doors due to "technical issues".
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) posted on social media that the town's main library will remain shut today.
And it has been confirmed a fault with the heating system has forced a closure as wintry conditions spread across Lanarkshire.
They posted: "Customer notice: apologies as East Kilbride Library will remain closed today due to ongoing technical issues.
"We will provide a customer update when this has been rectified. Thanks for your patience."
David Booth, general manager of SLLC, said: “A fault with the heating has caused East Kilbride Central Library to close until it has been repaired.
“We are working as quickly as we can to bring the heating back into operation and will spread the word through our website and social media platforms as soon as the library is open to the public once again.”
Library users are being told their nearest services are in Greenhills and St Leonards.
