Council admits leaving double yellow lines unfinished

A council has admitted leaving double yellow lines unfinished due to "parked vehicles causing an obstruction".

South Gloucestershire Council were carrying out the works in North Street in Oldland Common.

However, the council left the markings incomplete and pinned the blame on parked vehicles on the road.

A picture taken by a bemused resident, received by Bristol Live on Tuesday (April 2), show a large gap in the middle of the unfinished double yellow lines.

The council has said it will finish the markings as soon as conditions would allow.

“The parking restriction markings on North Street were installed by our StreetCare team," a council spokesperson said.
