Coulters, the Edinburgh-based residential law firm and estate agency, has ended a six year association with Coulters Lettings.
Ross Mackay, a partner at Coulters, said: “The businesses have worked well together but our view is that the time is right for us to focus on our core property business. The relationship will end later this year and the name Coulters Lettings will disappear but the business will continue to be managed by Marcus Di Rollo and Sam Paulo under a different name.''
“Coulters has experienced significant growth in the past 18 months with revenues increasing by 54% in the past 12 months,” he said.
The firm was taken over by veteran deal-maker Malcolm McPherson, the former chairman of Hibernian Football Club, and the long-standing managing partner of Henderson Boyd Jackson, which became HBJ Gateley Wareing before merging with Addleshaw Goddard in June 2017. Gateley is now a listed UK legal firm.
In the last report at Companies House, Coulter Legal had assets of £275,750, down from £281,445 in 2017.
In its last set of accounts, Coulters Lettings, which employs four people, had assets of £88,954.
