'Couldn't have gone better!' - Arsenal fans revel in Alexis Sanchez's Man United departure

Former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has officially left Manchester United.

The Chilean has signed a season long loan deal with the Serie A club after failing to play a single minute under Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer so far this season.

Sanchez left Arsenal for Old Trafford in January last year in a deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrive at the Emirates Stadium. But the attacker has failed to make an impact at Manchester United, due to poor form and injuries.

The 30-year-old has scored just five goals in a Man United shirt, including a goal in the FA Cup fourth round tie against Arsenal in January, although Gunners fans would have been happier with his semi-final strike against Spurs in the previous season, which saw their rivals crash out of the competition.

Sanchez played 166 games for Arsenal between the years of 2014 and 2018, scoring 80 goals.

His move to Old Trafford left a sour taste in the mouths of Arsenal fans, with many revelling in the struggles that he has had in a Man United shirt.

Upon hearing the news of his move to Italy, Gunners supporters took to social media to remind the forward what could have been should he have decided to stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Sanchez will now be looking to resurrect his career in Italy, and find his Arsenal form that caused Man United's initial interest.
