'Couldn't be happier' - Spurs fans saying the same thing as Man United confirm Solskjaer as boss

Tottenham fans have to live with the fact that when a job at one of Europe's big clubs comes up, Mauricio Pochettino is going to be linked with it.

On numerous occasions in the last few years, the Spurs boss has been tipped to take over at Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

This season alone, with both Real Madrid and United struggling, Pochettino has been heavily linked with a move away from north London.

Madrid re-appointing Zinedine Zidane, following Santiago Solari's demise alleviated some fears, but there was still a question mark hanging over what was going to happen at Old Trafford.

Ed Woodward explains why Man United appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as boss amid Pochettino links

After Jose Mourinho was sacked, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was handed the reins on a caretaker basis. But there was talk that a decision on the permanent boss would be made in the summer.

United remained keen on Pochettino, but Solskjaer was doing his best to make the job his own, steering the Red Devils back into top four contention and masterminding an impressive win over Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, having trailed 2-0 after the home leg.

And United have now appointed Solskjaer on a three-year contract, further alleviating Spurs fans' fears that their much-loved Argentine manager will leave.

Tottenham supporters have been reacting to the news on Twitter.
