'Couldn’t ask for a better comeback' - Tyler Roberts on his goal-scoring Leeds United return

Leeds United hero Tyler Roberts insists he couldn’t have wished for a better comeback against Hull City.

Marcel Bielsa’s side ran out 4-0 winners at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Roberts making his return in the second half.

The Whites forward has been sidelined for a few weeks, but scored twice in the final 10 minutes to help his side to another three precious points.

“Yeah I couldn’t ask for a better comeback really,” he told Sky Sports in the immediate aftermath to the game.

“Again that is credit to the physios, everyone who has supported me and the fans for being patient with me. I’m just happy that it has gone that way.

“I think every game we play we can score more goals. Even today we have hit the crossbar and the post so I think it just shows how sharp and on it we are.

“I think 4-0 is very fair.”

The win moves the Whites eight points clear of the chasing pack and leaves them just one point behind table-toppers West Brom, but Roberts has warned his side aren’t getting carried away.

“Not a lot. It is the Championship and it is a crazy league,” he added. “We are not going to get ahead of ourselves, we saw what happened last season and we have learnt from it.

“But that is what we will be wary of. We will stay on it. We will stay working hard and hopefully the gap can get bigger and we can get the job done.”
