Could you have been a Millionaire? Test yourself with the 15 questions from Wednesday's episode

A Who Wants to be a Millionaire? contestant came incredibly close to taking home the million pound prize last night - but missed out after deciding not to go with his best guess on the final answer.

Andrew Townsley made it through 14 out of 15 questions in Tuesday night’s episode, getting to the final one with a lifeline intact.

After deliberation and an unsuccessful Phone a Friend, the retired doctor decided against risking the hefty sum of money he had already won, telling host Jeremy Clarkson he would take the £500,000 he had already pocketed.

But could you have won the full jackpot? Take the quiz below - and face the same questions he did - to find out...

The final question on motorsports was all that stood between Townsley and the £1 million jackpot.

If had he gone with his instinct, he would become the sixth person in the show's history to scoop the top prize.

Judith Keppel became the first person to do so in November 2000 and the most recent jackpot winner was Ingram Wilcox, who won the jackpot in 2006.

Who wants to be a Millionaire? continues every night this week at 9pm on ITV.
