Could Vikings be considered a sleeper team in 2019?

The Viking were considered Super Bowl favorites in 2018.

Instead, they finished 8-7-1 overall and missed the playoffs in Kirk Cousins’ first season with the team.

Now, heading into 2019, could they be considered sleepers?

Bucky Brooks over at NFL.com has the Vikings listed as one of his sleepers for the 2019 season.

Here’s what Brooks wrote about the Vikings:

Don’t let a disappointing 2018 campaign overshadow the potential of the sleeping giant residing in the Twin Cities. While there was plenty of hate spewed in Kirk Cousins’ direction for the way things turned out in his first season after signing a blockbuster deal, the Vikings should feel good about his chances of performing like a top-10 quarterback in an offense being overseen by coordinator Kevin Stefanski and advisor Gary Kubiak.

Not much has changed as far as talent level goes for this Vikings team. There’s still a stout defense, even if it lost Sheldon Richardson. The offensive line should be better with Garrett Bradbury.

There’s a reason to be optimistic if you’re a Vikings fan, but do so cautiously.
