Could this be Bristol's most bizarre street name?

Bristol is teeming with weird, wonderful and alright bizarre street names which must produce a smile or two to many passing pedestrians and drivers.

But none are perhaps as fitting for our city as the newly named 'Cheers Drive' based near Crofts End Road/Brook Road in Speedwell.

The phrase around these parts means 'thank you driver' and so many Bristolians were surprised to see it pop up at the new Persimmon estate.

One person wrote on Facebook: "Someone from Google maps must be Bristolian."

Here's a list of other bizarre street names in Bristol

  • Battenburg Road, St George
  • Belland Drive, Whitchurch
  • Bigwood Lane, St George
  • Clay Bottom, Eastville
  • Cock Road, Kingswood
  • Dangerfield Avenue, Bishopsworth
  • King Dick's Lane, St George
  • Pitch and Pay Lane, Stoke Bishop
  • There and Back Again Lane, Clifton
