Could this £10 plant from Asda really stop you snoring at night? NASA thinks it can

There are few things more annoying than falling asleep only to be woken up by loud snoring from your partner’s side of the bed.

Snorers have probably been forced to wear nasal strips and mouth guards while they sleep in an effort to make the noise stop.

But a £10 pineapple plant from Asda could now solve the issue, with NASA supporting the snoring solution.

According to NASA, their studies show that purifying plants such as the pineapple plant improve air quality which in turn aids a better and quieter sleep.

The plant from the Bromelia family is the most purifying plant at night and research shows that they strongly improve the air quality of a room and contribute to a better sleep by allowing a deeper slumber by reducing sleep apnea and some snoring symptoms, says Asda .

The pineapple plant everyone is talking about (Asda)

Although sold in the UK, the plant is grown in Holland and takes between 21 and 24 months to develop the tiny pineapple.

You can get your hands on it at Asda.com to give it a try.

What is snoring?

Snoring is when your tongue, mouth, throat or airways vibrate as you breath.

Aside from product fixes to help get a better night's sleep, the NHS say simple lifestyle changes could help reduce snoring.

They say to try and lose weight if you're overweight, sleep on your side, and to consider asking your partner to use earplugs if your snoring affects their sleep.

They also suggest to stop smoking, to not drink too much alcohol, and to avoid sleeping pills as these can sometimes cause snoring.
