Could the Vikings end up bringing Teddy Bridgewater back?

With Kirk Cousins entering the last season of his contract, there is plenty of talk about his future with the Vikings.

Will the Vikings extend him? Will 2020 be his last season? Will the Vikings wait and see?

In his first two seasons with the Vikings, Cousins has been solid, but the Vikings haven’t been able to get over the hump like they had hoped.

Bill Barnwell over at ESPN put together a piece which predicts the 2020 offseason moves around the league set around Tom Brady, Philip Rivers, Cam Newton, A.J. Green, Trent Williams, Chris Harris and Melvin Gordon.

In a scenario where the Vikings trade Kirk Cousins to the Chargers for a second-round pick after Philip Rivers signs with the Colts, Barnwell has the Vikings signing Teddy Bridgewater to a $100 million deal.

Wild times.

It’s an awesome piece form Barnwell that lays out soooo many scenarios. Check it out here.

Could the Vikings trade Cousins this offseason if a long-term deal can’t be reached? Maybe, but it feels unlikely that they’ll get another team to trade.

If you’d ask Vikings fans, though, they’d probably prefer Bridgewater to Cousins, even if the reason is purely nostalgia-based.
