Could the Titans pursue WR Brandon Marshall in 2019?

The Tennessee Titans have a need for more depth at the wide receiver position as free agency approaches, and there’s a number of notable names hitting the market.

While Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown is by far the most talked about, others like New Orleans Saints receiver Brandon Marshall are expected to be released as well.

Could the Titans be interested in pursuing the veteran to solidify the receiving corps heading into 2019?

Of course GM Jon Robinson can choose whoever he wants to add to the team, but Titans reporter Jim Wyatt doesn’t view the potential addition as helpful.

“I like the idea of a veteran, but Marshall is 34 and he hasn’t produced much in his last three years,” he wrote in a recent mailbag post. “Not exactly what I have in mind.”

The idea of a seasoned player with a well-known name like Marshall may sound attractive, but it’s likely his best days are behind him.

Marshall has been hardly a force in recent times, with a total of just 29 receptions for 290 yards and one touchdown over the course of the past three years.

Those who want Marshall in Nashville are probably reminiscing on his days in Denver, where he once racked up over 1,000 yards receiving in back to back seasons (2007 and 2008) as one of the team’s most key offensive players.

Expect the Titans to add at least one established playmaker in free agency in mid-March, but don’t count on his name being Brandon Marshall.
