Could the Titans face Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on Sunday?

The Tennessee Titans (4-5) aim to bounce back from last week’s loss to the Carolina Panthers as they face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday (6-3).

The Chiefs have been without quarterback Patrick Mahomes since he dislocated his right kneecap in an October contest against the Denver Broncos, and there’s no set date as to when exactly he’ll be back at the helm.

Matt Moore has recorded an overall record of 2-1 in his absence, and has looked efficient overall.

Considering that the Chiefs are sitting pretty at the top of the AFC West, it’s likely the team is looking more to the situation they’ll be in near the postseason as opposed to this week’s game against the Titans.

“We’re not going to put him out there unless he is safe to do it,” head coach Andy Reid told reporters. “But he has to go through this work level and keep increasing it and see how he does. That’s where we’re at.”

The way that Reid’s comment sounds makes it sound as if the Chiefs are going to continue taking their time with Mahomes, even though he’s been a full participant all week in practice.

The possibility is certainly there, but don’t be surprised if it’s Moore taking the snaps in Nissan Stadium this week.
