Could the Titans face AJ McCarron on Sunday?

It goes without saying that Sunday’s matchup between the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans is much more important to the latter team.

The Texans have already clinched the division, leaving them without much to play for — and with all the reason in the world to sit their key players.

The Titans control their own destiny with a win over Houston, which will secure them a place in the postseason.

So does this mean that the Titans could face AJ McCarron on Sunday?

Texans coach Bill O’Brien hasn’t been very telling.

“I would say, like I always tell you guys, especially this week, like I said in the beginning, we’re going to do everything we can to win the football game,” he said when asked if he would start McCarron over Deshaun Watson.

The starter was listed as questionable on the injury report on Friday, as were several of the team’s usual starters.

It seems both possible and reasonable for the Texans to at least bring McCarron in at some point of the Week 17 game, whether they choose to start him or not.

McCarron has seen action in just one game so far this season, with one incomplete pass attempt.

On his NFL career, the signal-caller has completed on 87-of-137 passes for 928 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions.

It will be interesting to see if the Texans bring the former Alabama quarterback into the mix as the two teams face each other at 3:25 p.m. CST on Sunday in NRG Stadium.
