Could the Raiders convince RB Marshawn Lynch to return in 2019?

On Wednesday morning, the Oakland Raiders received the news that Isaiah Crowell tore his Achilles while working out on Tuesday. The team signed Crowell in hopes to be their starting running back in Week 1 of the season. However, that won’t happen as Crowell is lost for the season.

The team drafted running back Josh Jacobs in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but it’s clear that the team doesn’t want to put too much on his plate right away. Ideally, they would like a veteran to help him learn the game and ease him into a role.

With the running back market dry after the draft, could the Raiders try to convince Marshawn Lynch to return for one final year in Oakland? Maybe. According to his mom, Delisa, on Twitter, she said that her son is available to play. (The tweet has been since deleted, but here is the screenshot):

While there have been reports that Lynch may retire, nothing is official. If the Raiders offered Lynch an upgrade in salary and a starting job, would he be open to returning? Who knows, but it’s worth a shot.
