Could the Raiders bring back FA WR Martavis Bryant?

During the 2018 NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders took a shot on Martavis Bryant, hoping that he would become the perfect complement to Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson. Fast forward a year, and none of those three players are left on the roster.

However, could there be a chance that the Raiders try to reunite Bryant with Jon Gruden in Oakland? Maybe. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Bryant, who was suspended late in 2018, is planning on applying for reinstatement in the upcoming weeks.

If Bryant is reinstated, there would be little to no risk involved for Oakland. He could compete for a roster spot and would give them more depth at the position.

In 2018, Bryant played in eight games with the Raiders, starting two games. He caught just 19 passes for 266 yards and failed to score a touchdown. However, he is still one of the fastest players in the league and can dictate coverage down the field.

But with the team signing Tyrell Williams and J.J. Nelson, Oakland might decide that they don’t need another deep-threat on the roster. They may just decide that it’s not worth the hassle of bringing back Bryant. It will be interesting to see if the Raiders have any interest in Bryant, assuming he is reinstated.
