Could the Eagles draft a QB at No. 6 overall to compete with Jalen Hurts in 2021?

As the Eagles prepare to move on from Carson Wentz, a quarterback competition could still be held at the NovaCare Complex in late July.

It’s NFL draft season and ESPN recently listed a bold prediction for all 32 teams with the 2021 offseason, free agency, and selection process all set to begin.

Tim McManus landed the prediction for the Eagles and the veteran beat writer believes Philadelphia will continue their quarterback factory, taking a signal-caller at No. 6 overall.

Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia will draft a quarterback in the first round to compete with Jalen Hurts.

Would the organization really end one quarterback controversy by trading Carson Wentz, just to invite another? That will be a question to grapple with between now and April’s draft. The opportunity could be too good to pass up. The Eagles hold the No. 6 pick and obviously hope they’re not selecting that high again anytime soon. If they identify a franchise QB, they could pounce while they have the chance. — Tim McManus

You have to assume that Howie Roseman only pulls the trigger on a signal-caller if a can’t miss prospect or Trevor Lawrence lands at No. 6, but crazier things have happened.
