Could the Eagles be a landing spot for Marcus Mariota in free agency?

The Philadelphia Eagles could be in the market for a backup quarterback, while Marcus Mariota currently needs a job.

A matchup that was only dreamed of when Chip Kelly was the head coach could be a reality in free agency according to Pro Football Focus.

With Carson Wentz’s rugged style of play, it’s not out of the question for the Eagles to be on the lookout for a solid backup with big-game experience.

Mariota’s ability to scramble also means he could be utilized in trick-play or gimmick situations similar to the way the Saints use Taysom Hill.

Mariota is rumored to have some interest in free agency from the Bears, but if he can’t land another starting job, Philadelphia could be a place where Mariota is able to land and continue to learn the quarterback position under a solid group of coaches brought in to help Carson Wentz take the next step.
