Could Seahawks be a potential draft trade partner for the Colts?

As we inch closer to the 2020 NFL draft, the topic of whether the Indianapolis Colts will trade up into the first round has become a growing discussion.

After trading the No. 13 pick to the San Francisco 49ers for defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, the Colts no longer have a first-round pick. Now, they are on the clock first at No. 34 but have enough ammo to move up if Chris Ballard feels it’s necessary.

While there are a few candidates the Colts could target in a trade if a player they like is entering a trade-up range, another team could be added to the list: the Seattle Seahawks.

Currently holding the No. 27 overall pick, the Seahawks could be a prime target for the Colts to jump back into the first round. They have made some type of trade in the first round every year since 2012.

The Colts would likely be able to trade the No. 34 and No. 122 overall picks to move up if they wanted to grab a player the like, rather than risking that player falling into the second round.

The Colts have already given up draft capital to acquire a player. It doesn’t seem like Ballard’s play to continue that trend. That said, the Colts are making it obvious they are in a win-now situation, which means all options are on the table right now.

The Seahawks only have four draft picks this year, which makes a trade even more possible. The Colts have the ammo to make a deal and if one of their top prospects falls late on Day 1, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them hammer out a deal with Seattle.
