Could Redskins make a run at Michael Crabtree?

The Washington Redskins figure to address the receiver position at least once this offseason.

If they want to go the veteran route in free agency, they could always look to an old friend like Pierre Garcon.

Or they could look at an interesting new name just added to the free-agent pool:

Crabtree has been in the league since 2009 and finally had a down year this past season as the Ravens’ offense tanked. He played in all 16 games but only scored three times — down from his eight or more in three consecutive seasons before that.

But the Redskins need sure-handed veterans if they are to help along a new face or possibly even a rookie quarterback. Crabtree can accomplish this if the two sides can agree to a deal and it will ease the pain if Josh Doctson again fails to break out or Paul Richardson again can’t stay on the field.

In a weaker free-agent market headed up by Golden Tate though, the Redskins would have some big competition for Crabtree.
