Could LeBron James and Steph Curry play together in 2020 Olympics?

It’s a fun bit of NBA trivia that both LeBron James and Stephen Curry were born in the town of Akron, Ohio. However, the two have been exclusively pitted against each other over the years, including All-Star games. Even with LeBron in the West, they didn’t play together in exhibitions but that could all change if LeBron chooses to suit up for USA Basketball one last time, because Curry plans on being there.

Curry told ESPN’s Rachel Nichols that he is planning on participating on Team USA, which recently finished 7th in the FIBA World Cup but still managed to qualify for the 2020 Olympics next summer in Tokyo.

“That is the plan, for sure,” Curry said in an interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols. “You know, obviously knock on wood, you don’t want any injuries or things like that to interfere.”

Spain took home the World Cup championship in a dominant win in the Final against tournament cinderella Argentina, who knocked off previously No. 1 ranked Serbia and a France team that knocked off the United States in the quarterfinals.

While the United States team suffered from a lack of participation from their superstars, they also had a couple of key injuries. However, having a team with Stephen Curry and LeBron James would be the ultimate equalizer to help the U.S. get back to the top of the mountain in international basketball. Also, it would be great for basketball fans around the world to finally see two of the most iconic players of the last decade play together.
