Could Giants trade back into Round 1 for a late QB?

With 12 picks in this year’s draft, the New York Giants could be ready to wheel and deal this weekend since it’s hard to conceive 12 rookies making the final 53-man roster.

It’s feasible that general manager Dave Gettleman will package a few of his picks and move up to take a player that will absolutely make his roster, meaning one of his moves might be moving up into the latter part of the first round to grab a quarterback.

It’s unlikely that Gettleman will use either of his current first round picks (Nos. 6 and 17) on a quarterback, mainly because he knows he’s going to land a seminal defensive player at No. 6 and all four the top four quarterbacks could be gone by the time the Giants are on the clock at No. 17.

It is believed that head coach Pat Shurmur likes Will Grier and, like Ralph above, this is the first we’ve heard of them being linked to Ryan Finley.

Outside of the two first round selections, the Giants have one pick in each of the second, third and sixth rounds, two in the fourth, three in the fifth and two in the seventh.
