Could former Seahawks LB Mike Curtis make the Hall of Fame in 2020?

In honor of the NFL’s 100th anniversary in 2020, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is entertaining the idea of enshrining a whopping 20 candidates next year, according to Hall of Fame President and CEO David Baker.

Ten of those would come from the senior pool of candidates, which would certainly help alleviate the logjam of qualified players from decades ago who have been waiting for their chance to get the call to Canton.

Although it is unclear who would select those 10 candidates, a poll of the nine seniors committee members gave fans a glimpse of who might be enshrined next year.

Among the many legends of years past was former Baltimore Colts linebacker Mike Curtis, who also spent one year with the Seahawks in 1976, the team’s inaugural season.

Like Franco Harris, Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens, Curtis could be the next Hall of Famer who played briefly with the Seahawks but who made their name elsewhere.

Curtis made four Pro Bowls and was a two-time All-Pro during his career, which spanned from 1965-1978.

He’ll face stiff competition, but with 10 candidates potentially getting enshrined from the centennial ballot alone, Curtis’ best chance for induction will be in 2020.
