Could Clemson DE Clelin Ferrell be a difference maker in Washington?

With the Washington Redskins defensive depth chart noticeably thin, there’s a good chance that Bruce Allen and Co. decide to bolster their defensive line in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Is Clemson DE Clelin Ferrell the difference maker that Washington could be looking for?

In three seasons at Clemson, Ferrell appeared in 44 games tallying 164 tackles, including 50 for loss with 27 sacks, five forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. There is a strong possibility that he is still on the board when the Redskins are picking at No. 15 as well.

“The Redskins have been looking for a pass rusher for years,” NFL analyst  Charley Casserly wrote in his latest mock draft April 9.

With little cap space left after free agency, but a growing need for big bodies on the defensive line, Washington needs to find a cheap option for putting pressure on opposing QB’s this season.

The draft is fast approaching; get used to the idea of the Redskins making a relatively un-sexy pick in the first round.
