Could Catalonia try to break away from Spain again?

Could Catalonia try to break away from Spain again?

It has been a turbulent three years since Catalonia tried to secede from Spain.

Spain’s government did not authorise the referendum organised by regional leaders in Barcelona and charged them with sedition later.

The issue dominated Sunday’s regional election, where separatist parties increased their majority.

But the Catalan branch of Spain’s ruling Socialists also won more seats in parliament.

Presenter: Mohammed Jamjoom

Guests:

Mar Aguilera Vaques – Professor of Constitutional Law, Barcelona University

Pieter Cleppe – EU policy analyst

Cristina Manzano – Editor-in-chief, Esglobal
