Could Bengals swing a trade before making final cuts?

The Cincinnati Bengals have been pretty good in recent years about pulling off minor trades that help out in notable ways, with the Billy Price-B.J. Hill move serving as a good example.

As the team approaches final cuts, there might be a chance to do such a move again.

After all, the Bengals have deep reserves of talent at key spots.

For example, if the team felt a veteran like running back Trayveon Williams wouldn’t make it through to the practice squad while they keep younger guys on the 53, might they offer him up via trade?

Or what about at wideout if they can’t fit, for example, Stanley Morgan? Similar story at tight end with the likes of Mitchell Wicox if they instead keep breakout Tanner Hudson.

It even applies to the defensive side, too. Would they risk moving a Josh Tupou so they can keep other breakouts like Raymond Johnson III? Would another team want to trade for punter Drue Chrisman?

If nothing else, it’s certainly something being taken into consideration at Paycor Stadijm right now, as the nature of tough calls includes whether the team will be able to retain roster cuts through other means.

This, combined with the idea the team could be active on the waiver wire too, is something to monitor in the coming hours.
