Could Anthony Barr be a fit with the Rams?

Linebacker Anthony Barr is a free agent, and there are some doubts on whether or not he’ll sign back with the Vikings after five seasons.

Where could Barr end up? Gil Brandt from NFL.com thinks Barr could a bit with the Los Angeles Rams.

Here’s what Brandt wrote about Barr’s fit with LA:

He’s good against the run and would make sense in his hometown of Los Angeles, given the Rams’ difficulties stopping the run last season (they ranked 23rd in run defense). Yes, Los Angeles tightened things up in the playoffs. But consider that Barr was Pro Football Focus’ 18th-highest-graded linebacker against the run last season, while the Rams’ highest-graded linebacker was Mark Barron, who checked in at No. 90.

I’d be surprised if Barr comes back to Minnesota, unless he strikes out with teams in free agency.

Barr has the physical traits to be great, and we’ve seen it throughout his career, but he’s been far too inconsistent to invest big guaranteed money in. And that’s why the Vikings extended everyone but Barr last season.

Expect the Vikings to draft a linebacker and/or replace Barr with a low-risk free agent.
