Could a quantum energy reading be the answer to all your problems?

Show me someone who isn’t feeling at sea, as if they are struggling against the downward pull of a whirlpool as they try to balance work, home and everything in between. AI has only cemented that feeling of helplessness — threats of industry disruption and job annihilation are not conducive to clear thinking. But, as with whirlpools, the worst thing to do is panic. That’s the fundamental principle behind Poppy Delbridge’s quantum energy readings (and her new book, Unlock Your Power).

Delbridge, London’s leading expert in rapid tapping — exercises which help to regulate the nervous system — has developed a new system to help us navigate life’s relentless push and pull. Her intent is to give people the space to hope. It’s all about “unlocking the frequency of your core desire, to get to the truth — faster and deeper”.

So, how do we do this? By calming the hell down. Only then will we know how we really feel and what we really want. Her work sits at the “intersection of neuroscience, quantum mechanics and ancient traditions”. The aim is to alter brain-wave patterns so we can access a super-conscious state. Basically, quietening the noise in order to ponder where you want to go in life and what is stopping you from getting there. The great Deepak Chopra is a proponent of harnessing quantum energy in this way.

First, you need to get on board with the theory that we are balls of energy or “frequency beings”. “It’s about looking through the lens of quantum mechanics, which is that we are all particles of energy which need to flow,” says Delbridge. In order for any deep thinking to occur, we need to feel safe: “That’s my mantra: change your state of being before you do anything.”

She advises beginning with some gentle nervous system exercises — rapid tapping around your chest, face and head. Breathe in deeply through your nose and out of your mouth. In tandem, think about what you desire. To do this, she says: “Pretend you could wave a magic wand and you could make anything happen. What would your life look like if you let yourself really want what you want? Not what you think you should want.”

Next, tune into your “done energy”. Delbridge calls this “creating future memories” — essentially visualising getting the thing you want. “If we don’t know something or expect something, our brains tend to go into a bit of a threat state. It’s unfamiliar. But our brain doesn’t know the difference between what has happened as a memory and what we vividly imagine.” Channel the version of you that already has the thing you want. The theory is your brain starts responding as if it’s already true.

If, when doing this, doubts and fears creep in, you’ve probably got a case of the IMPs (or Invisible Mind Patterns). It might sound something like “I’m not ready” or “somebody else is already doing it better”. Some might argue that a bit of reasonable caution is a good thing, but Delbridge says “they’re patterns from the past on repeat. Repetitive scripts that are not aligned with your true potential and most beautiful future possibilities”. To banish an IMP, go back to tapping on the acupressure points, while taking deep breaths and telling yourself out loud “this is just an old pattern doing its job”.

Ultimately, we need to be kind to ourselves, says Delbridge. “Tell yourself, ‘I can do this, this is possible for me’ to regulate and bring safety to the body. Because everything is possible, there is hope and your future could perhaps be closer than you think. This will be our superpower to prepare for the massive change in how we live due to AI. Everything we need is already within us, we just need to let out.”
