“Coughlin time” is no more at Jags’ facility, team sets clocks back to correct time

The Jacksonville Jaguars began life after Tom Coughlin Thursday by setting the clocks in their facility to the correct times. With the change being a new one, some of the Jags’ veterans admitted that it will be an adjustment but it’s one they will likely get accustomed to over time.

“I thought I was late for meetings,” Jags cornerback A.J. Bouye told the media while laughing Thursday. “I look up and I had an extra five minutes, so I was good. That’s the only thing that’s really changed. The approach of the players and coaches are all still the same.”

As most who’ve follow the Jags (or New York Giants) know, Coughlin infamously has his respective work places set their clocks five minutes ahead of time to teach punctuality to those who work with him.

The Jags’ longest-tenured veteran, Abry Jones, especially was thrown off by the adjustment telling the media that he too thought he was late while saying the change in time would be the biggest adjustment the team would have to get used to as a whole.

“I noticed the clocks. It threw me off the when I first got here [this morning],” Jones said via the Florida Times-Union. “I was late, but that’s probably the strongest adjustment we’re going probably have to get to is resetting to five minutes back.”
