Couch, rubbish, rugs and HALF A CAR illegally dumped in Palmerstown laneway

Residents of a west Dublin village are outraged after items including what appears to be half A CAR were dumped in a lane in the area.

A couch, household waste and a number of rugs were also dumped in Palmerstown by thoughtless fly-tippers.

Palmerstown Tidy Towns shared pictures of the dumping in an angry post on social media this afternoon.

They said: "Dumping in our lanes!! Who's doing this? Who do you think is going to pick up after you ??

"Have you no pride in your community??? THIS HAS TO STOP!!!"

Locals branded the dumping as a "disgrace", including local councillor Alan Hayes.

The newly elected Independent rep added that he wasn't convinced it was locals doing the dumping.

He added: "These overly cheap waste removal services need to end up somewhere and if people stop using them, this will likely reduce.

"Removable bollards (residents with keys) is the most realistic deterrent to prevent vehicle dumping and it would also stop the lanes being used for rat running."
