Cosy Liverpool pub The Fulwood Arms is hidden in plain sight

Liverpool’s is no stranger to bars and pubs, especially when you’re looking for one off the beaten track.

In a city as big and busy as Liverpool there’s no doubt we’ve got a few things hidden up our sleeves including hidden bars, tiny shops and underground tours.

One hidden gem you may not have heard of is The Fulwood Arms, based on Aigburth Road.

The pub, which was once a car garage in the 80s before later becoming Bas’s wine bar, has been open since 2007.

Having been through several redesigns in its time, The Fulwood Arms is now a cosy, candle lit pub.

Despite being based on a main road the pub provides the quiet, comfortable atmosphere of a rural watering hole.

The Fulwood Arms serves an extensive collection of spirits, a range of draught ales and even a special menu dedicated to gin - and it's well known for serving an excellent pint of Guinness.

The pub also hosts a diverse range of events, including themed quizzes, boom box bingo, open mic nights and screenings of sports events.

Jenny Collinson, manager of The Fulwood Arms, said: “We have a staunch group of regulars who are in most days and have been coming to The Fulwood since it was Bas's.

“They're all lovely and make the pub a really nice place to work.”

The Fulwood Arms is open seven days a week, from 4pm to midnight on Mondays and Tuesdays, and from 12pm to midnight Wednesday to Sunday.
