A much loved Edinburgh bar has bagged a spot as a finalist in the prestigious Great British Pub Awards 2022.
The Regent situated on Montrose Terrace is known for its homely atmosphere, with comfy sofas, real ales, and friendly staff. And amongst others, has been recognised by the Great British Pub Awards.
The 'LGBTQ+ and straight friendly bar' is loved by locals and regulars as it describes itself as 'Edinburgh's Gay Community pub. Always warm and comfortable with no loud music so you're always able to chat with friends'. And with a rating of 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor, we can see why it's up in the running for the Great British Pub Awards 2022.

One punter praised the pub on Tripadvisor: "Living in London, we have a multitude of pubs nearby, but none with the warmth, the friendliness and laid back atmosphere that The Regent has. It's how all pubs should be, welcoming to everyone and everyone made to feel like they are a regular."
A second customer added: "Just around the corner from where we were staying and a really great pub. Quite a traditional feel, but very young and fresh at the same time. Great gay vibe, but more a feeling of inclusivity than trying to put any label on it."

The Great British Pub Awards are said to be 'The Oscars' of the pub industry. They will whittle down the contestants and the winners will be announced at a grand event on October, 4 2022 in Manchester.
