Costa set to bring back free coffee at express machines after chaos last year

Costa Coffee is set to bring back its highly-anticipated free coffee day this year.

According to eagle-eyed coffee fans, Costa will give away free hot drinks at Costa Express machines.

The promotion - which sparked chaos last year with huge queues on the day - is expected to return on March 31, reports Birmingham Live.

An image reporting the deal has been shared on HotUKDeals and says Costa will be backing up the free offer with a £2 million marketing campaign.

Costa said they are unable to confirm the details at this stage, and are not able to say whether the event will happen again.

The coffee giant operates multiple shops in Liverpool and the offer is running across the UK, excluding Northern Ireland, and is expected to run for 24 hours.

Customers will be able to take their pick from anything on the Express machine's menu.

This includes americano, latte, espresso, cappuccino and hot chocolate.

With none of the Express machines taking money, customers can personalise their beverage too, completely free of charge, adding extra coffee shots and syrups to their drink.
