Costa Rican Beach Where Malcolm-Jamal Warner Drowned Once Named 'Most Dangerous Beach In Atlantic Coast'

The Costa Rican beach where Malcolm-Jamal Warner drowned was once named the most dangerous beach on Costa Rica's Atlantic Coast due to its known rip currents.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, 54, who played Theo Huxtable on "The Cosby Show" from 1984 to 1992, died while vacationing with his family in Costa Rica of an accidental drowning. He drowned near Playa Cocles in Costa Rica's Limon province.

The beach where Warner passed away was previously named one of the country's most dangerous beaches by The Costa Rica Star.

"Cocles: Considered the most dangerous beach in the Atlantic Coast because of the rip currents as well as the irregular conditions of the beach," the publication wrote in 2016.

Authorities responded to the crisis quickly, but were unable to save the TV star after he was pulled from the water. His official cause of death was asphyxiation.

Warner leaves behind a wife and child.
