Costa is slashing the price of drinks to 50p after shoppers felt 'conned' in April

Last month, shoppers went wild as Costa slashed the price of all hot drinks on its menu to 50p.

As a result of the deal, queues formed outside Costa stores and in drive-thrus, and some people were left disgruntled as the app crashed due to the deal's popularity.

Now Costa has confirmed the return of its 50p deal - but this time it's on cold drinks.

To mark its 50 th birthday, the company said it’s reducing a range of iced beverages for less than a pound from Tuesday to Thursday.

The deal applies on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, however it’s only available to those who register and claim it via the Costa Coffee Club app, according to the Mirror.

A Costa Coffee spokesperson said: “We are delighted to continue our 50th birthday celebrations by bringing Costa Coffee fans this amazing offer of ANY barista-made cold drink for just 50p.

"Whether you are meeting a friend in the park for a coffee and a catch up, or just want to pick up a handcrafted Iced-Latte, Costa Coffee has you covered!”

Aside from the Fruit Cooler and Frostino range, all other cold drinks can be snapped up for 50p for three days this week.

The discount follows a similar promotion on all hot drinks in April.
