Costa has launched Coca-Cola coffee - and people have a lot of thoughts

Whenever Costa Coffee releases a new flavour drink, people flock to try it.

But their latest creations have some people feeling just a little conflicted.

The company have teamed up with fizzy drink giant Coca-Cola to create a range of cola-flavoured coffees.

They announced the new partnership in a post on LinkedIn and it's fair to say people have a lot of thoughts about the new drinks range, which includes a Coca-Cola latte and cappuccino.

Their post read: "The summer campaign has landed in China and we are really excited by the first ever Coca-Cola flavour coffee range. This is something we cannot wait to try!"

The new hot drinks launched in China in May 2020 and a cold brew version will be joining the menu there in July.

It's not yet known when the drinks will be available to buy in the UK - but the lack of availability hasn't stopped people here from commenting on them.

Responding to Costa Coffee's post, coffee fans had mixed thoughts, with some keen to try them and others unsure.

One person wrote: "Mmmm interesting."

Another said: "Worth a try!"

A third commented: "Not sure about this one."

"How disgusting is that! Coca-Cola is disgusting enough with making it ruin good coffee," added someone else.

A different user added: "That sounds crazy. I'm in."

A sixth replied: "Not sure about this one Costa! Match made in heaven or a step too far?"

Speaking to Tyla, a spokesperson for Costa described the new Coca-Cola cold brew, saying: "The familiar crisp taste of the classic Coca-Cola complements the smooth mellow coffee flavours found in our Cold Brew coffee.

"When served over ice, this is a truly refreshing summer drink."

Hmmm, sounds tempting.
