Costa is giving away free drinks to customers that use its mobile app at Scots stores today to mark its 50th birthday.
Anyone who buys a drink from a Costa Express machine and scans the Costa app will get £3 back to get a hot drink from one of its stores or drive-thru services.
Users will be able to get 300 points on their cards, which can also be used on any food item to the value of £3.
Scots will only be able to take advantage of the deal on one purchase per customer from today until 11.59pm on Thursday, April 1.
A spokesperson for Costa Coffee said: “It’s our birthday and we want to kick off the celebrations with our customers, so what better way than to offer a free drink on the house.
"As lockdown restrictions begin to lift, it’s perfect timing to catch-up with friends outside over coffee. Our Costa Express machines serve the same fresh signature Mocha Italia coffee beans and fresh semi-skimmed milk you would expect in our Costa Coffee stores, so the quality of your experience is never compromised.
“We have also worked hard to revolutionise the self-serve experience, not only offering great tasting coffee but offering customers the contactless option to order their favourite hot drink through the Costa app, meaning there is no need to touch any of our screens.

“We’re excited to kick off the celebrations for Costa Coffee’s 50th year and can’t wait for our customers to join us in raising a shot…of espresso to the next fifty years.”
Scots will be able to find their closest Costa Coffee branch here.
