Costa Coffee to open new Coatbridge drive-thru

Costa Coffee is opening a new drive-thru store in Coatbridge next month, creating 10 jobs.

The new store, currently in the final stages of construction, will be located in one of two new units which have been built in the car park of the existing B&Q at Caldeen Road in Whifflet.

It has been designed with a range of extra hygiene measures to assist with contactless purchases, including “one-of-a-kind” serving hatches which will lower orders down to waiting customers’ vehicles.

A spokesperson for the company told the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser: “We’re delighted to confirm the opening of a brand new Costa Coffee drive-thru on Caldeen Road, coming in November.

“Our number one priority remains the safety of our customers and team members, so we have ensured that the store has a number of enhanced hygiene measures in place that align with current government guidelines.

“These include bespoke, cleverly-designed serving hatches which allow customers to collect their order easily with no contact – these lower items from the service hatch down to vehicles and have a built-in acrylic screen to provide maximum protection.

“We look forward to welcoming customers to our new store, which has created 10 new jobs and will allow people to easily pick up their favourite handcrafted coffee.”
