Costa Coffee has issued an urgent product recall

A food item is being recalled from Costa Coffee stores, because it was incorrectly labelled.

The coffee chain's Chicken and Bacon Pasta Salad has been removed from sale, because it contains fish, milk and mustard, which are not mentioned on the label.

CornwallLive reports this means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to fish and or mustard, or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The Costa Chicken and Bacon Pasta Salad comes in a 290g pack and has a use-by date on May 22. No other Costa Coffee products are known to be affected.

Costa Coffee is recalling the product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tells them what to do if they have bought the product.

If you have bought the product and have an allergy do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

If you would like to speak to Costa about this their customer service team can be reached on 03330035883.
